The short version
Your incident data is processed in your browser, it never reaches our servers during assessment. We don't store your CSV files. We don't sell your data. We don't use your data to train AI models. The only time data leaves your browser is when you explicitly request AI-generated content, and even then, nothing is stored.

When you upload a CSV file for assessment, the file is parsed and analysed entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. Your incident data, knowledge base data, and any other uploaded files are never sent to our servers or any third party. The analysis runs locally on your device. When you close or refresh the page, the data is gone.
When you use the KB Article Generator, the ticket text you paste is sent to a secure API endpoint to generate the article. This is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. The text is sent via an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and is used solely to generate your article. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models. We do not store the ticket text or the generated articles on our servers.
The client-side analysis (category distribution, duplicate detection, resolution quality scoring) runs entirely in your browser. If you use the AI-powered generation features (Pro tier), aggregated category names or anonymised resolution patterns may be sent to the API for analysis. Individual ticket data is not sent.
We use standard web analytics to understand how the site is used (page views, tool usage). This does not include any of your uploaded data. We may use cookies for basic analytics and to remember your preferences.
If you purchase Distill Pro, payment is handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment processing: stripe.com/privacy.
If you contact us via email, we'll have your email address and whatever you include in your message. We won't add you to marketing lists without your explicit consent.
Assessment processing happens on your device (your browser). When AI generation is used, data is processed via Anthropic's API infrastructure. Anthropic processes data in the United States. For full details, see Anthropic's privacy policy.
We don't retain your uploaded data. CSV files exist only in your browser memory during your session. Generated articles exist only in your browser until you close the page. Usage counts for the free tier are stored in your browser's local storage, you can clear this at any time by clearing your browser data.
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Since we don't store your uploaded data, there's very little to delete, but if you've contacted us by email or subscribed to Pro, you can request data deletion at any time by emailing distill@clearmade.co.
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be noted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Distill after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
